Scholarship

Scholarship Program

The generous contributions of GCREA members helped us reach our Scholarship goal. From contributions generated by the Scholarship Fund Drive, held during past years, we are now able to take out $2,000 each year for two scholarships without endangering our investment. These monies are held in Vanguard Wellesley Mutual Income Fund, Southern Company and Brand Bank. Donations are always welcome. Send to Beverly Dryden, Treasurer.

Teacher Scholarship Recipient

There were 38 applications for the Teacher Scholarship. Judy Adcock introduced the teacher winner ‑ Erin Butler from Dacula Middle School, who is a former student of Ms. Adcock and a couple of other GCREA members. Erin thanked GCREA for the scholarship and she thanked the retired educators for all their dedication and hard work during their careers.

Student Scholarship Recipient

There were 27 applicants for the Student Scholarship. Sarah Finger and the Student Scholarship Committee introduced the Student Scholarship winner ‑ Erica Wright who wants to be a fine arts teacher. She plans to attend Georgia College in Milledgeville, and would like to teach music in the future. Erica thanked GCREA for the scholarship and she expressed thanks to her mom. Her grandmother was present with her.
